Psychology Training Degrees
A PhD, also known as a doctoral degree, is needed for any individual who wants to work in the field of training other psychology professionals. In a career setting, these individuals can work for mental health facilities, hospitals and medical offices, in private practice, with schools and universities, and even with local, state, and federal government agencies as a training professional. Their duties will include research and educating the trainees that they have, as well as continuing education, managing others, and related tasks. Of course, the exact tasks will vary from one position to the next. In the psychology profession, there is a need for extensive clinical training when people are getting their education and there is just as much of a need for professionals who can train those people in real job experiences and hands-on situations. Supervised psychology training is a great career choice for people who like to teach others, but who don’t want to work in a classroom. These professionals are generally required to be licensed, and laws in each state vary as to what is needed to obtain that license. Professionals working in the training sector of psychology can expect to make between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on their position and which types of organizations they work with. The career future for this particular industry is quite promising, with an increasing demand for new professionals to train people on the new methods of psychology in various disciplines. Those who have the most experience and highest degrees will be offered the best positions within the field.
